I'm passionate about simplifying necessary tasks. Sometimes it's as simple as an interface adjustment and others it's as complex as encouraging a new behavior. The solutions always seems to reveal themselves by truly understanding the target user's primary goal and how they currently achieve that goal. 

However this is only half of the equation, the other half is relationships and communication. Relationships with customers and stakeholders are essential for developing empathy and understanding who I'm designing for. This has helped me transition from "What do I think the best concept is" to "What can we do right now, in an agile environment, that solves our customers needs while also achieving our business goals?".

Before getting tied down to any direction it is important to explore as many variations as possible.

ITERATIVE REFINEMENT 

Once you and your team feel confident in your direction build prototypes to dial in the product. This is frequently where gaps and oversights can be identified before they are coded in. 

Workshop Facilitation

In addition to research and design, workshops are a great way to get team members, stakeholders, and target customers on the same page. These workshops prevent miscommunication and quickly get everyone on the same page.

When I'm not working I occupy my time by doing pretty much anything outdoors. At the end of the day it's really about being with good people no matter what we're doing.
